AWESOME job! Inspirational stuff, I have been checking out the shelving units you can buy to use in garages at supercheap etc.. Thought they could be tweeked to be used in a similar way. Have seen these at reasonable prices, but not sure about the depth..

Great Home.

The shelving units I've been looking at are 600mm deep but they are industrial shelves, thus cost a small fortune (many hundreds of $$ for 4 shelves about 1.8m long)

I could probably make something much the same out of cheap structural pine and ply for a fraction of the cost, but then I'd have to paint it to seal the wood. That is where the cost AND time becomes a problem...

Gotta get the concrete floor in my shed first - and then line the walls/install more windows etc etc.

Have you used just reed for the 3 sides, without wire mesh? That's an idea I've been toying with but I was worried the pigs might eat their way out!

Chuffnut the shelves I am using are industrial shelves. Pallet racking I think its called, that or longspan shelving.

In my shelter I use the entire thin bamboo ones (not the split ones)... they are very tough and not chewable - plus the slits in between are also thin. Some bargain shops sell them - I got mine from the reject shop. I dont use wire around them, just the bamboo surrounds... works fantastic.

I think the reeds may not be as strong as you can break them with your fingers but putting pressure on them... they may also be chewable? The ones I have used reeds on I have used fencing wire on first and then cable tied the reeds on.

It looks fantastic, Dee. I didn't realise you could buy corflute at Bunnings Oxley. In the past, I asked to buy some and they had told me I can't buy any and they won't give me any as they re-cycle it.

I did think it was a bit mean as I'd offered to pay for it and I only wanted one piece. Instead, I got a big story about how they melt it and used it for something else!
